My name is Mirvari Alimova, I am from Azerbaijan. I am a master’s degree student in Space and Astronautical Engineering at the Sapienza University of Rome in Italy.
My connection with the space industry is related to my field of study. I intend to become a distinguished and successful astronautical engineer and I would be thrilled to work on projects related to the space program.
I got my bachelor’s degree in “Space Technical Engineering” at the National Aviation Academy in Azerbaijan, and I graduated from university with a grade of 95/100.
I worked as an intern at places such as Silk way Technics, Azerbaijan National Space Agency, Research Institute of Transport and Aerospace Problem for a period of one or two month each year through the university I studied. The internship that I had at the Research Institute of Transport and Aerospace Problems was a practical course for determination of carbon nanomaterials in the Atomic Force Microscopy at the “Nanoeducator” scientific-teaching complex at the “Department of Aviation Microelectronic sensors”. An internsip at the Azerbaijan National Aerospace Agency was in context of using of achievements of space technologies in the field of economy and security of the Azerbaijan Republic, development and implementation of national aerospace programs and conducting research and improving new ideas at the Research Institute of Aerospace Informatics.
During this term, I have developed management, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills and I gained a lot of knowledge about my specialty. In order to positively evaluate my free time, I received the certificates from Astronomy and Astrophysics courses on online platforms such as Coursera and expanded my knowledge in this field.
In addition to my educational background, I have actively participated in various space-related research projects and practical assignments. During my bachelor period, I continued my research on "Development of methods for the application of nanoparticles in the process of crystallization of alloys in order to obtain high quality metals". Furthermore, a research article entitled “Ecological features of obtaining and practical use of fullerenes and carbon nanomaterials” I worked on with my associate professors was published in Russia's most prestigious scientific journal. I also did research with the support of the MATLAB Simulink program in the framework of the " Designing an automatic space monitoring system for small spacecraft."
I got my master's Erasmus degree from Vilnius Gedimino Technical University in the field of Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering from the beginning of February to the end of June.
I worked in workshop "LinkMenų fabrikas" in Vilnius, Lithuania with modern tools for prototyping & media: 3D printing, 3D modeling software programs such as Ansys, Solidworks, animation at this time. During these projects it was very helpful for me to gain knowledge about various real structural components to study and compare different solutions between different aircraft.
As a master's degree student, I am doing so many projects in MATLAB or other programs now in Italy. I will be participating in IAC 2023 BAKU with two of my academic papers, I am working on this with the founder and CEO of Cygnus Space UK.
